How (Not) to Speak of God by Peter Rollins (Paraclete, 2006) is a fabulous book! Rollins is founder of the Icon community in Northern Ireland. He offers a way of looking at the study of God from a perspective of humility, mystery and wonder. Rather than making God the object of our intellectual pursuits, we are invited to enter into a theological architecture that takes both Christian tradition and contemporary culture seriously. It will enhance your own theological explorations, and it will nurture your faith walk. The first half of the book is a description of this theological path. The second half of the book is a fleshing out of this method through descriptions of worship experiences at Icon. I highly recommend this book.
